Final B2 Practice
|

|
Grammar choice |
Выбирать время, модальность, пассив, условную форму по смыслу ситуации |
Ученик знает правило отдельно, но путается в смешанных примерах |
|
Argument |
Строить мнение: тезис -> причина -> пример -> вывод |
Много фраз, но мысль разваливается и звучит как список |
|
Vocabulary |
Использовать collocations, topic vocabulary, linking phrases, abstract nouns |
Слова простые, повторяются good / bad / very / many |
|
Reading |
Понимать позицию автора, скрытый вывод, контраст, тон |
Ученик понимает слова, но не понимает, зачем автор это сказал |
|
Writing |
Писать opinion essay, for and against, report, review с ясной структурой |
Текст похож на перевод русских мыслей без английской логики |
|
Speaking |

|
Tense system |
Present Perfect vs Past Simple, Perfect Continuous, Past Perfect, Future Perfect, Future Continuous |
Смысл времени важнее русского перевода |
|
Modality |
must have done, might have done, could have done, should have done, cannot have done |
Это часто не про действие, а про степень уверенности |
|
Conditionals |
Third Conditional, Mixed Conditionals, I wish, If only, as long as, provided that |
Форма показывает реальность / нереальность / сожаление |
|
Passive |
Advanced passive, reporting passive, have / get something done |
Важно, кто в фокусе: действие, результат или исполнитель |
|
Linking |
however, nevertheless, despite, whereas, as a result, therefore, moreover |
Связки меняют направление мысли |
|
Discourse |
On the one hand, That said, In practical terms, The main issue is... |
B2 звучит связно, а не как набор предложений |
|
Vocabulary |
abstract nouns, adjective + noun, verb + noun, academic verbs |
Не “do a mistake”, а “make a mistake” |
|
Writing |
opinion, for and against, report, review, article |
Структура важнее красивых отдельных слов |
|
Speaking |
long turn, discussion, comparing options, giving reasons, soft disagreement |
Present Perfect |
She has worked with several international teams |
|
Процесс до настоящего момента |
Present Perfect Continuous |
They have been developing the app for months |
|
Законченное прошлое с точным временем |
Past Simple |
The company launched the product in 2022 |
|
Действие раньше другого прошлого действия |
Past Perfect |
By the time we arrived, the meeting had already started |
|
Предположение о прошлом |
Modal Perfect |
He must have misunderstood the instructions |
|
Сожаление о прошлом |
I wish / If only + Past Perfect |
I wish I had taken the offer more seriously |
|
Нереальное условие в прошлом |
Third Conditional |
If she had prepared better, she would have passed |
|
Фокус на результате услуги |
have / get something done |
We had the documents translated |
Времена: результат, процесс, опыт, последовательность
B2-времена не должны учиться как отдельные коробки. Их нужно сравнивать. Самый важный вопрос: что именно меняется в смысле, если поменять время?
|
Пара |
Первое предложение |
Второе предложение |
Разница смысла |
|
Past Simple / Present Perfect |
I read the report yesterday |
I have read the report |
В первом есть закрытое прошлое время. Во втором важен результат сейчас: отчёт уже прочитан |
|
Present Perfect / Present Perfect Continuous |
She has written three emails |
She has been writing emails all morning |
Первое говорит о результате. Второе говорит о процессе и длительности |
|
Past Simple / Past Perfect |
When I arrived, they started |
When I arrived, they had started |
В первом старт после моего прихода. Во втором старт раньше моего прихода |
|
Future Simple / Future Continuous |
I will call you at six |
I will be working at six |
Первое - решение/обещание. Второе - действие в процессе в будущий момент |
|
Future Simple / Future Perfect |
They will finish soon |
They will have finished by Friday |
Второе подчёркивает завершение к дедлайну |
|
Почему нельзя выбирать по русскому переводу
|
Один русский глагол “работал” может дать разные английские варианты:
I have worked with difficult clients before
I worked with difficult clients last summer
I had worked with difficult clients before I joined this company
I have been working with difficult clients all week
I was working with a difficult client when the manager called
By the end of the month, I will have worked here for five years
Модальные глаголы и предположения
На B2 модальные глаголы часто выражают не обязанность, а вывод. Ученик должен отличать “должен сделать” от “должно быть, сделал”.

You should have checked the figures |
Тебе следовало проверить цифры |
|
needn’t have done |
зря сделал, необходимости не было |
We needn’t have booked a taxi |
Мы зря заказали такси |
Тонкая разница:
- He must have left - я делаю сильный вывод по признакам
- He had to leave - у него была необходимость уйти
- He should have left - он должен был уйти, но, возможно, не ушёл
- He could have left - он мог уйти / у него была возможность
Условные предложения, wishes, regrets
В B2 conditional forms проверяют не “если”, а реальность ситуации. Нужно понять: ситуация реальная, возможная, воображаемая, сожаление о прошлом или смешанный результат?

Passive, reporting passive, have / get something done
Пассив на B2 - это не просто “когда не знаем кто сделал”. Пассив нужен, когда важнее действие, результат, объект или официальная подача информации.

Linking words и построение аргумента
На B2 связки нужны не для красоты. Они показывают логику мысли: добавление, контраст, результат, уточнение, пример, ограничение. Ошибка ученика - вставлять however и moreover просто потому, что они “красивые”.

Мини-сценарий B2-аргумента:
Some people believe that working from home makes employees less productive
However, this is not always true because productivity depends more on management and clear goals than on location
For example, a well-organised remote team can communicate effectively and complete tasks faster than an office team with poor planning
That said, remote work does require discipline, especially when people have many distractions at home
Therefore, the best solution is not to ban remote work, but to combine flexibility with clear expectations
Mixed Grammar Test
Выбери лучший вариант. Здесь темы специально перемешаны. Именно так проверяется реальный B2: ученик должен понять смысл, а не угадать тему по названию раздела.

Reading B2 Practice
Прочитай текст и ответь на вопросы. В B2-reading важно понимать не только факты, но и позицию автора, тон, скрытый контраст и главный вывод.
In recent years, remote work has moved from being a rare benefit to becoming a normal part of professional life. Many employees now expect at least some flexibility, while many companies are still trying to understand how this change affects productivity, communication and long-term career development.
Supporters of remote work often argue that flexibility helps people organise their day more effectively. Without a daily commute, employees may have more time for focused work, family responsibilities or rest. In some cases, this can lead to better performance and lower stress. Remote work can also help companies hire talented people who live far away from major cities.
However, remote work is not automatically successful. A poorly managed remote team can become isolated, disorganised and slow to respond. New employees may find it harder to learn from experienced colleagues if they rarely observe informal conversations or daily decision-making. Moreover, online communication can sometimes make small misunderstandings grow into larger problems, especially when expectations are unclear.
For this reason, the real question is not whether remote work is good or bad. The more useful question is what kind of structure makes it work. Teams need clear goals, regular communication, trust and measurable outcomes. Managers also need to judge employees by results rather than by how many hours they appear to be online.
A balanced approach is probably the most realistic solution. Some tasks require quiet individual focus, while others benefit from face-to-face discussion. Companies that understand this difference are more likely to create flexible systems that support both productivity and human connection.

Writing B2 Practice
На B2 writing проверяет не “красоту английского”, а управляемость мысли. Хороший текст должен иметь ясную позицию, логичные абзацы, связки, примеры и вывод. Даже простые слова могут звучать B2, если мысль организована взросло.

Writing Task 1: Opinion essay
|
Задание
|
План сильного ответа:
- Вступление: тема стала актуальной, но полная замена спорна
- Параграф 1: онлайн-образование даёт гибкость, доступ, индивидуальный темп
- Параграф 2: традиционное образование даёт социальную среду, дисциплину, живую обратную связь
- Вывод: онлайн может дополнять, но не полностью заменить
Модельный ответ:
Online education has become a powerful alternative to traditional learning, especially because it gives students more flexibility and access to a wider range of courses. However, I do not believe that it can completely replace schools and universities.
On the one hand, online learning is extremely useful for motivated students. They can study at their own pace, repeat difficult material and learn from teachers who may live in another country. This is especially important for adults who combine education with work or family responsibilities.
On the other hand, traditional education offers more than information. Students learn how to communicate, cooperate, ask questions and deal with different people. These skills are harder to develop when learning happens only through a screen. In addition, many students need structure and direct feedback in order to stay disciplined.
In my view, the best solution is a balanced model. Online education can make learning more flexible, but schools and universities still provide social experience, routine and personal contact. Therefore, online learning should support traditional education rather than replace it completely.

Speaking B2 Practice
B2 speaking - это не идеальное произношение и не сложные слова в каждом предложении. Это способность развивать мысль, объяснять причины, сравнивать варианты, соглашаться частично, возражать мягко и делать вывод.

|
Opinion |
I think it is good because it is useful |
I think it can be useful, especially for people who need flexibility, but it depends on how well the system is organised |
|
Comparison |
Online learning is good and school is good too |
Online learning is more flexible, whereas traditional education usually provides more structure and social interaction |
|
Disagreement |
No, I do not agree |
I see your point, but I would not fully agree because the situation depends on the student’s motivation |
|
Example |
For example, students learn online |
For example, an adult with a full-time job may find online courses more realistic than evening classes |
|
Conclusion |
That is all |
So, overall, I would say the best solution is a mix of flexibility and personal support |
Speaking prompts для финальной практики:
- Do you think technology makes people more independent or more distracted?
- Should companies allow employees to work from home whenever they want?
- Is it better to learn English with a teacher or through self-study?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city?
- Should schools teach practical life skills, such as money management?
- Do people today have too many choices?
- Is success mostly a result of talent, hard work or luck?
- Should social media platforms be responsible for false information?
Модель длинного B2-ответа:
I would say technology makes people more independent in many ways, because we can learn, work and solve problems without waiting for someone to help us. For example, if a person wants to improve English, they can use online lessons, dictionaries, videos and speaking platforms. However, there is another side. Technology can also make people distracted because notifications and social media constantly compete for attention. So, in my opinion, technology is a tool. It makes disciplined people stronger, but it can make unfocused people even more unfocused
Listening logic
